What are the general requirements to hire a car?

All drivers are required to present a form of ID (ID card / Passport), a credit card and a valid drivers license held for more than 1 year.

The minimum driver‘s age is 23 years for categories Α, B, C, D, G, S, L, J and 25 years for Category K. A driver younger than 23 years old that holds a licence for more than a year can still rent a car, provided he/she pays the young driver fee (10€ p/day) on top of the FDW.

The maximum driver’s age is 75 years.  A driver older than 75 years old can still rent a car, provided he/she pays the senior driver fee (10€ p/day) on top of the FDW.

Can someone else drive my car?

Only drivers mentioned on the rental agreement can drive a Eurowheels car. If a non authorized person drives the car, the insurance coverage seizes to apply. You can add extra drivers on your rental agreement at the time of your car pickup or by visiting a Eurowheels rental station during your rental period. The Additional driver must also present a valid drivers license for more than one year. The additional driver cost is 10€ per day.

Will I get the exact brand and model printed on my reservation?

Our fleet features cars from many different manufactures, so bookings are subject to a specific car groups and their features. Not on a specific makes or models.

Do i have to leave a deposit for my car?

Upon vehicle pick up, Eurowheels will preauthorize an amount on the driver’s credit card as a guarantee which will be refunded at the end of the rental in full, provided no other charges arise. Please note that the refund can take up to 14 days, depending on the issuing bank of the credit card. The deposit amount per car category is:

  • A,B       : € 350,00
  • C,D       : € 500,00
  • G,S       : € 750,00
  • J,K,L     : € 1250,00
What type of fuel does my car take?

Upon vehicle pick up, the Eurowheels staff member at the rental desk will inform you about the fuel type required for your car. In addition, there is always an indication on the fuel tank cap.

Late returns

There is a 30′ late return allowance. After the 30 minutes, a full days charge will be applied on your booking. If you have included your flight number on your booking we will be tracking your arrival time so there is no problem if your flight has been delayed. Make sure you contact Eurowheels whenever you have information about possible flight changes / cancellations).

Early returns

No refund will be given if a car is returned earlier than the agreed date/time.

What should i do if the car breaks down or in case of an accident?

In case of a car breakdown please call the emergency number on your rental agreement. If you’re involved in an accident you should contact the police immediately and then notify the renting location about what happened.
